A fitbit charge 2 charger is a clip, not a magnet and not a cradle. It grips the end of the tracker, two contacts meet, and the band stays where it is.
The first Charge, the Force and the Charge HR use a clamp. The Charge 2, Charge 3 and Charge 4 clip. The Charge 5, Charge 6 and Luxe are magnetic.
⭐ Three systems across one product name, which is why this is a separate page rather than a dropdown. ⚠️ Nothing from the magnetic generation will engage a Charge 2 — there is no clip on those leads and nothing here for a magnet to hold.
The model is printed on the back of the tracker. Read it before you order.
Line the clip up with the port on the back and push it home until it seats.
⭐ You will feel it click, and the screen shows a battery symbol within a second or two. The band stays on — no Fitbit charger has ever needed the band removed, whatever a listing might tell you.
⚠️ If nothing happens, the clip is usually not fully home. A fitbit charge 2 charger that looks connected but is sitting a millimetre proud makes no contact at all, and that is the commonest reason a working lead gets sent back.
⭐ Clean the contacts first. Skin oil, sunscreen and soap build a film across the pads on the tracker and the pins in the clip. A dry cloth, or a cotton bud with a little isopropyl alcohol.
⭐ Then push harder than feels polite. The Charge 2 clip needs a firm seat and it loosens with age.
⭐ Then change the USB port. A Charge 2 draws very little current, and a marginal hub or car socket fails quietly rather than obviously.
⚠️ Only then suspect the cable. A fitbit charge 2 charging cable that works at one particular angle has already broken at the flex point behind the clip, and cleaning will not bring it back.
The Charge 2 came out in 2016. The lead in the box is ten years old.
⭐ The trackers themselves are still going — that is the point. ⚠️ What fails is the fitbit charge 2 charging cable, and because Fitbit no longer sells one, a fitbit charge 2 charger replacement is the only thing standing between a working tracker and a drawer.
⭐ At this age the sensible thing is a fitbit charge 2 charger replacement before it fails rather than after. One at home, one in the bag, and the tracker keeps running for as long as it wants to.
Charge only. The Charge 2 syncs over Bluetooth, so nothing travels down this lead but power. It plugs into any USB-A port — a wall charger, a laptop, a power bank or a car socket.
⭐ Charging speed is set by the tracker. A full charge takes roughly two hours and gives about five days of use.
That a fitbit charge 2 charger fits the Charge 3, Charge 4 or Charge 5. The 3 and 4 clip differently; the 5, 6 and Luxe are magnetic.
That it charges faster. The tracker governs the rate.
That it needs the band removed. It does not, and neither does any other Fitbit.

The Fitbit Charge 2, and only the Fitbit Charge 2.
⭐ One model, because the Charge family changed its connector three times. The Charge 2 clip is its own part.
⚠️ If you have something else in the Charge range, this is not your lead:
We stock those separately. Tell us what is printed on the back of the tracker and we will point you at the right one.
And it will not charge faster than the tracker allows. Charging rate is set by the Charge 2, not by the lead.
