A fitbit charge 4 charger is a clip, not a magnet. It grips the end of the tracker, two contacts meet on the back, and the band stays where it is.
This fits the Fitbit Charge 3 and the Fitbit Charge 4. Both trackers carry the same rear port, so one part seats in either — which is why a fitbit charge 4 charger and a fitbit charge 3 charger are a single item here instead of two.
⚠️ The leads that came in the two boxes were not the same part. If you have swapped one for the other and found it loose, that is why.
The first Charge, the Force and the Charge HR clamp. The Charge 2 clips, with geometry of its own. The Charge 3 and Charge 4 clip together. The Charge 5, Charge 6 and Luxe are magnetic.
⭐ Three attachment systems under one product name — the commonest reason a Fitbit lead arrives and will not fit. ⚠️ Nothing magnetic will engage a Charge 4: there is no clip on those leads for it to hold.
The model is printed on the back of the tracker. Read it before you order.
Line the clip up with the port on the back and push until it seats.
⭐ You will feel it close, and the screen shows a battery symbol within a second or two. The band stays on — no Fitbit charger has ever needed the band removed, whatever a listing might tell you.
⚠️ If nothing happens, the clip is usually not fully home. A fitbit charge 4 charger that sits a millimetre proud makes no contact at all, and that is the commonest reason a working lead gets sent back.
⭐ Clean the contacts first. Skin oil, sunscreen and soap build a film across the pads on the tracker and the pins in the clip. A dry cloth, or a cotton bud with a little isopropyl alcohol.
⭐ Then press it home properly. The clip needs a firm seat and it slackens with age.
⭐ Then change the USB port. These trackers draw very little current, and a marginal hub or car socket fails quietly.
⚠️ Only then suspect the fitbit charge 3 charger itself. A fitbit charge 3 charging cable that works at one particular angle has broken at the flex point behind the clip, and cleaning will not bring it back.
The Charge 3 arrived in 2018 and the Charge 4 in 2020. The leads in those boxes are five and seven years old.
⭐ The trackers are still running — that is the point. ⚠️ What fails is the fitbit charge 3 charging cable, and Fitbit no longer sells one. ⭐ One at home, one in the bag keeps a fitbit charge 4 charger from ever being the thing that stops you.
Charge only. A fitbit charge 4 charger carries power and nothing else — the Charge 3 and Charge 4 sync over Bluetooth. It plugs into any USB-A port: wall charger, laptop, power bank or car socket.
⭐ A fitbit charge 4 charger does not set the speed — the tracker does. A full charge takes roughly two hours and gives about a week of use.
That a fitbit charge 4 charger fits the Charge 2, Charge 5 or Charge 6. The Charge 2 clip is a different part again; the 5, 6 and Luxe are magnetic.
That it charges faster. The tracker governs the rate, and a fitbit charge 3 charger cannot change that.
That a fitbit charge 4 charger needs the band removed. It does not, and neither does any other Fitbit.

The Fitbit Charge 3 and the Fitbit Charge 4.
⭐ Two models, one part. They share the same rear port and the same clip.
⚠️ If you have something else in the Charge range, this is not your lead:
We stock those separately. Tell us what is printed on the back of the tracker and we will point you at the right one.
And it will not charge faster than the tracker allows. Charging rate is set by the Charge 3 or Charge 4, not by the lead.
