A fitbit charge charger is not the same part as any later Charge lead. It grips the end of the tracker, the two contacts meet, and nothing from the Charge 2 onwards will do the same job.
The Fitbit Charge and the Fitbit Force use the same charging lead. Everything after them does not.
⭐ The Charge family changed its attachment three times. The first Charge and the Force take this one. The Charge 2 clips. The Charge 3 and Charge 4 clip differently again. The Charge 5, Charge 6 and Luxe are magnetic. ⚠️ And the Charge HR, despite the name, needs its own lead as well.
The model is printed on the back of the tracker. Read it before you order — this is the generation where the names cause the most trouble.
Line the tracker’s end up with the cradle and push it home until it is fully seated.
⭐ You will see a battery symbol within a second or two. The band stays on — no Fitbit charger has ever needed a band removed, whatever a listing might tell you.
⚠️ If nothing happens, it is almost always not fully home. A fitbit charge charger that looks connected but sits a millimetre proud makes no contact at all, and that is the commonest reason a working lead gets sent back.
⭐ Clean the contacts first. After this many years there is a film of skin oil and sunscreen across the pads on the tracker and the pins in the lead. A dry cloth, or a cotton bud with a little isopropyl alcohol.
⭐ Then press it home properly. The fit slackens with age and wants more pressure than it used to.
⭐ Then change the USB port. These trackers draw very little current, and a marginal hub or car socket fails quietly rather than obviously.
⚠️ Only then suspect the lead itself. A fitbit charge charger that works at one particular angle has broken at the flex point behind the head, and cleaning will not bring it back.
The Fitbit Charge launched in 2014. These leads are eleven and twelve years old, and Fitbit stopped selling them a long time ago.
⭐ The trackers themselves often still work — that is why people go looking. ⚠️ What has failed is the lead, and once it goes there is nothing in a drawer that fits. A fitbit charge charger is the whole difference between a working tracker and a dead one.
⭐ If yours is still going, a spare is worth having now rather than when the current one gives up, because this part gets harder to find every year.
Charge only. A fitbit charge charger carries power and nothing else — these trackers sync over Bluetooth. It plugs into any USB-A port: wall charger, laptop, power bank or car socket.
⭐ The tracker sets the speed, not the lead. A full charge takes one to two hours.
That it fits any later Charge. Not the Charge 2, not the Charge 3 or 4, not the Charge 5, Charge 6 or Luxe, and not the Charge HR.
That it charges faster. The tracker governs the rate.
That a fitbit charge charger needs the band removed. It does not, and neither does any other Fitbit.

The first-generation Fitbit Charge, and the Fitbit Force.
⭐ Two trackers, one part. They share the same connector.
⚠️ Nothing later in the range takes this lead — and the Charge HR is the one people get wrong:
We stock those separately. Tell us what is printed on the back of the tracker and we will point you at the right one.
And it will not charge faster than the tracker allows. Charging rate is set by the tracker, not by the lead.
