A Fitbit Flex charger is the one part Fitbit never sold enough of, and the one that always goes missing first. This is the replacement lead — a small clamshell clip on a captive USB-A cable that the tracker pops into, holding its contacts against the pins. If the one that came in the box has gone brittle or vanished into a drawer, this is the straight swap.
The Flex and the Flex 2 do not share a charger, so a Fitbit Flex 2 charger will not serve a first-generation Flex and the reverse is just as true. The first-generation Flex uses a clip that the whole tracker module slides into, pins at one end. The Flex 2 uses a shorter clip that grips the bare tracker pod once it is out of the wristband. They look similar in a photograph and they are not interchangeable, so this page is sold by model — choose yours at the top and the right clip is what ships. The Fitbit Flex 2 charger is the shorter of the two.
That is worth saying plainly, because a Fitbit Flex charger bought for the wrong generation will seem to fit and then simply never charge. Pop the tracker out of the band first and match the clip to the pod, not to the strap. If the pod is a slim rounded tablet it is a Flex 2, and a Fitbit Flex 2 charger is the one you want.
There is no magnet in a Fitbit Flex charger. The clip is a sprung plastic shell with gold contact pins inside, and it holds the tracker by friction — press the pod in until it seats, and the pins meet the contacts on the back. Nothing to align, and nothing to wear out but the spring.
The USB-A end of the fitbit flex charging cable goes into anything that supplies power: a laptop, a wall plug you already own, a power bank in a bag. The tracker draws a small, steady current and stops when it is full, so there is no fast-charge standard to worry about and none would help — a Flex battery is tiny and fills in an hour or two whatever you plug it into.
The failure point on every clip-on tracker lead is the same place: the neck where the cable meets the shell, which takes every bend when the clip is pulled off a desk by its cord. This one runs the cable into a moulded neck rather than a butt joint, so the bend is spread over a longer run instead of folding into a single crease.
The shell itself is the part that decides whether a Fitbit Flex charger lasts. A clip that has gone soft will hold the tracker loosely, the pins will lose contact, and the charge will stop halfway through the night. Every Fitbit Flex charger here is moulded to hold its shape and keep the pod square against the pins.
A Fitbit Flex charger is cheap insurance: a tracker that will not charge is a tracker that stops being worn, and a Flex is old enough that its lead has had a decade of use. A Fitbit Flex charger costs a fraction of replacing the tracker, and a spare Fitbit Flex 2 charger at work means a flat battery never stops the step count.
