If your Surge is still going, a replacement fitbit surge charger cable is getting hard to find — and that is the whole reason this page exists. The watch was discontinued years ago, the shops stopped carrying the accessory long before that, and the clamp is proprietary, so nothing else in a drawer will fit it. We hold stock.
The Surge does not charge over USB, magnets or a pad. It uses a moulded clamp that grips the body of the watch and presses spring-loaded pins onto contacts on the back of the case. That design is specific to this model and a handful of its contemporaries — there is no adapter, no workaround, and no standard equivalent.
Which means that when the cable goes, the watch stops being a watch. Not because the watch failed, but because a $15 accessory did.
Almost always the clamp, not the cable. Years of opening and closing the same hinge wears the grip, and a clamp that no longer holds firm lets the pins sit a fraction off the contacts. You see it as a watch that charges only when you push down on it, or one that reports charging and then quietly stops overnight.
The other common failure is the short section of cord immediately behind the clamp, which flexes every time the watch is taken off charge. By the time a Surge is this old, both have had a long working life.
Before you order, one quick check. Wipe the contacts on the back of the watch with a dry cloth. Sweat and skin oil build a film across them over years of wear, and that alone stops a charge often enough to be worth thirty seconds. If it charges after a clean, you have saved yourself the postage.
A moulded clamp with sprung contacts, a standard USB-A plug at the far end, and enough cord to reach a wall plug or a laptop port. It is charge-only — the Surge syncs over Bluetooth, so no data crosses this connection.
There is nothing clever to say about it. A fitbit surge charging cable is a simple part that has become scarce, and the only thing that matters is that it fits properly and that someone still has one.
Not a sales line — the arithmetic on a discontinued accessory is different from a current one. With a current-model watch, if the cable fails in two years you buy another one. With a Surge there is no guarantee anyone will be importing these in two years, and when the last of them goes the watch goes with it.
A spare costs less than a replacement fitness tracker and it removes the only single point of failure the watch has left. If you intend to keep wearing it, buy the second one now rather than hoping later.
