A bose qc35 cable is a 2.5mm plug at the earcup end and a 3.5mm plug at the source end. The small one goes into the headphone; the ordinary one goes into the phone, the laptop or the seat-back screen.
Bose used a 2.5mm socket on the QuietComfort 25 and 35 so the plug would sit flush against the earcup. ⚠️ An ordinary 3.5mm-to-3.5mm lead will not go in, which is the thing people discover after ordering the wrong one.
